Unfavorable weather conditions detoured the start of the 2025 Ladies Acceleration Tour season and nearly delayed another event on Saturday as the races at Riverside Speedway were cancelled. Fortunately, Speedway 95 stepped in and asked if the tour would like to join their racing program on Sunday, in which they happily obliged.

Kasie Kolbe kicked off the season with a win in the Outlaws.

Kasie Kolbe immediately jumped back into winning form in the Ladies Outlaw division, kicking off the season with a feature victory. Dalaney Dunn also showed promise in the Hornets, scoring a heat win.

Although Dunn took the crown in the heat, it was Rhonda Crain who pulled ahead with the advantage in the feature. Rhonda is a former multi-time champion at Speedway 95 who has been out of the seat for almost a decade. She didn’t skip a beat in her return to racing as she sailed into the sunset in the Hornets, picking up the feature win with a bent wheel and tire to boot. Destiny Overlock and Chrissy Rizzuto followed, rounding out the podium.

The tour also hosted a “pretty car” contest on Sunday, with Rhonda Crain and Kasie Kolbe taking the titles in their respective divisions.

The race also served as the first of 3 races in the series’ “Queen of the Oval” triple crown, with the next race taking place on July 19th at Wiscasset Speedway.

Tour founder Betty Nelson would like to thank all of the competitors who were able to move around their schedules last-minute, along with Tooney Looney Rentals, LLC. for sponsoring Sunday’s events.

The tour will venture all the way up to Spud Speedway in Caribou for their second event of the season next Saturday, June 14th, joining the Maine Outlaw Midget Series for a Father’s Day special!
