Rusty Poland once made his way through the ranks at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, but he now finds home in the Super Late Model division at Oxford Plains Speedway. Rusty shared with me his racing plans for 2020.

What do you miss most about the racetrack?

“I miss seeing all of my friends that I don’t usually see outside of racing and just the feelings of being in the pit area and walking up to the backstretch wall, seeing all of the people.

What are you looking forward to this season?

“I’m just looking forward to seeing how all of our changes work for us this year and hopefully parking the double 4’s in Victory Lane.”

What changes have you made in the off-season?

“Not huge changes, racing-wise. We have a new Gen 6 body and with the help of Jeff Taylor, we’re giving it the best shot we can at being good again. We have a race shop of our own now and sharing it with Kolby (Morrell) and Charlie (Sanborn) has been cool and so has renovating it.”

What sponsors would you like to thank?

“So many sponsors. Derek Kneeland Racing, Morrell’s Excavation, Casella Waste Systems, Bonang Concrete, Maine-ly Batteries, Kruczek’s Garage, Timmons Machine and Ty-Gar Machine.”
